The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was unveiled at the IAA in September 2009 as the successor to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The design of the grand tourer coupé, particularly its gullwing doors, is inspired by the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. The designation SLS stands for Super Leicht Sport (Super Light Sport) and is intended to emphasize the lightweight construction of the sports car. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was developed and manufactured independently at the AMG plant in Affalterbach.

History

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was delivered on April 20, 2011, to a businesswoman from the Mannheim area. Despite the low mileage, all services were performed at the same official Mercedes-Benz dealership where the vehicle was delivered.
