The Audi R8 ABT XGT is a limited-edition supercar, restricted to just 50 units, based on the Audi R8 LMS GT2 race car. No other vehicle has ever been more uncompromising than this road-legal race car. Developed by ABT Sportsline in close collaboration with Audi Sport, the XGT brings the pure fascination of motorsport to the road. Numerous components were directly derived from racing. From the monocoque to the bodywork, this Audi R8 ABT XGT is not a disguised production car, but a genuine GT2 race car with road approval. At its heart beats a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that delivers 640 hp at 8,000 rpm and transmits its power exclusively to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The result is an immediate, raw response that only a naturally aspirated ten-cylinder engine can provide. The body is made of carbon fiber, the aerodynamics are virtually identical to the GT2 race car, and of course, fully functional. Thanks to uncompromising lightweight construction, the XGT weighs only around 1,400 kilograms, which is about 300 kilograms less than a standard R8. The interior also largely resembles the race car's cockpit: fully integrated roll cage, racing steering wheel, FIA-compliant display, and carbon fiber bucket seats – nothing has been omitted; everything has been optimized for racing and adapted for road use. The top speed is over 310 km/h, and the acceleration is as brutal as the driving experience. Each of the 50 examples was individually handcrafted and is street legal. The ABT XGT is not an ordinary special edition – it's a collector's item, a driving statement, a bridge between motorsport and reality. A car for people for whom "fast" isn't enough.
