VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Generally

The Porsche 997 Carrera was unveiled to the public in 2004 and quickly became a favorite among Porsche enthusiasts. After its predecessor, the Porsche 996 Carrera, had been a thorn in the side of many fans due to its distinctive headlights, the Porsche 997 was finally a visually and technically impressive sports car. The 997 model series was produced in various versions until 2012, with a major facelift in July 2008. This update included redesigned bumpers and air intakes, and the introduction of LEDs for the taillights, turn signals, brake lights, and daytime running and position lights. Bi-xenon headlights were also fitted as standard. However, the most significant change was technical: the newly designed engines now featured direct fuel injection. This resulted in increased performance and reduced fuel consumption.

History

This Porsche 997.2 Carrera S Cabriolet was first delivered by the Porsche Center Reutlingen on April 23, 2009. For over four years, the car remained with its first owner, who used it as a second car for enjoyable open-air driving. During this time, the car was meticulously serviced at the Porsche Center Reutlingen, receiving all required maintenance. After nearly 20,000 km, the car changed hands on April 8, 2013, and was sold to a friend of the previous owner. This friend also maintained the car meticulously and used it only as a second car. Under the new owner, the 997 continued to receive its scheduled maintenance. Eventually, the new owner decided to sell the car, as he had the opportunity to purchase a new Porsche 981 Cayman GT4. When he informed the original owner of his intention to sell, the latter promptly decided to buy the car back. On October 21, 2016, the vehicle was returned to him with a mileage of 30,300 km. Once again in the possession of the original buyer, the vehicle was driven only very sporadically, which is why it now has a total mileage of just over 39,000 km. Naturally, all maintenance was carried out according to specifications, and a major service was performed at the Porsche Center Stuttgart as recently as July 2015. All shock absorbers were also inspected at the Porsche Center Stuttgart as part of a Porsche recall, and all shock absorbers are in very good condition, partly because the convertible was driven exclusively in good weather.

Special features

The second-generation Porsche 997 Carrera is now a highly sought-after vehicle. This is due not only to the new engines with direct fuel injection, but also to the significantly reduced electronics compared to its successor, the Porsche 991 Carrera, which gives the Porsche a more emotional and purist feel. Furthermore, the Porsche 997 Carrera remains a very compact sports car, making it extremely agile and dynamic. A well-maintained example with just over 39,000 km and a complete service history is now a rare find. These vehicles will almost certainly continue to appreciate in value in the future.
